SUCCESS CONTINUES FOR STUDENTS OF THE GOALIE GUY:
Ryan Simpson was named Goalie of the Year in the Eastern Junior Hockey League. He led the league in both save percentage and goals against average. He also won the EJHL title with the NH Junior Monarchs.
Brian Foster won a Clark Cup trophy in the USHL with the Des Moines Bucaneers.
Joe Pearces Boston College Eagles made it to the NCAA National Title game losing to Wisconsin.
Casey Cox won a state title in Maine with Chevrus high school-duplicating fellow goalie guy student Mason St. Hillaire's feat last year. Cox was also first team all-state joing him as second team all-state is Tony Dube (another Goalie Guy student).
Cox and John Tuttle (Concord, NH) both played in their respective senior All-star games for Maine and New Hampshire.
Matt Unger also won a state title (Division 1) in Massachusetts for Marshfiled high school
Simpson and Casey Tuttle of the Portland Junior Pirates both participated in the Beantown Spring Classic (an invite only hockey tournament).
Scott Crowther, Connor Shannon, Matt Mosca all garnered All-state honors for NH D1 high school goalies.
New England Hockey Festival:
Connor Shanon, Matt Mosca, Nick Therrien, Tyler Ingerson, Casey Desmith, Chris Galluzzo, Dylan Strogen, Dylan Palmer, Lauren Slebodnick all were named the the NH Select teams and participated in the New England Hockey Festival. Nick Broadwater made the Maine Select team.
Slebodnick and Shannon made Team New England and will go the the USA Select camps.
Mass Festival Teams:
Corey Mcmahon and Jeremy Bellino made the Mass festival teams.
Junior Hockey:
Anthony Oliveira and Matt Shirley finished in the top 10 goalies in the Empire Hockey League-Oliveira will be playing at Becker college next season.
Other student headlines and accomplishments:
Vinny Monaco garnered Rookie-of- the- week honors for Hockey East as he guided UMass-Lowell over Boston College 6-3 while making 36 saves.
Scott Tomes recorded a 35 save shutout over Army for Uconn.
Grant Carrier guided the Portland Junior Pirates to a championship in the EHF.
Justin Lavertue and Casey Desmith guided the Seacoast Spartans to the national bantam tournament.
Brian Foster and Ryan Simpson were invited to the Viking Cup tryouts with Foster making the team and Simpson being an alternate. They were a hand picked selection from all junior goalies under 18. Only 6 were invited to the tryouts.
Ryan Thorpe of Saint Lawrence got his first game time in against Harvard.
John Hallas put forth a great effort in a 3-1 loss to Quinnipiac for Saint Lawrence.
George Papachristopolous earned First Team East All-American and AJ Bucchino earned All-American West for Division 3 college.
Henry Breslin was named MVP of Trinity College's season-an award voted by the players and coaches.
Skylar Nipps earned the starting role for Babson College as they went to the ECAC playoffs.
Ryan Simpson was named the the EJHL All-star team as they facd off against the US-18 team. Ryan made 47 saves in a 5-2 loss.
Casey Tuttle was also named to the Atlantic All-star team who played the same US National team.
Nick Broadwater was also named to the Met League All-star game.
